About the Role

If you enjoy working with children and they enjoy working with you, we need to talk. JuniorVestors is looking for counselors to work with our online group learning program. No prior knowledge of finance or investment is needed.

Our lessons are project and discussion based. The role of the counselor is to guide children to discuss and collaborate with each other. We teach children how to think, not what to think. This role is fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Work with groups of children in an online format. Each project meets for once a week, one hour per week. You can be counselor for more than one project

  • Moderate group discussions, ensuring that everyone is participating

  • Provide fun and encouragement 

  • Debrief with fellow counselors and program Director 

  • Collaborate with fellow counselors to ensure punctual, timely processes

  • Greet parents and answer any questions

Qualifications

  • Ability to work with children in an online format 

  • Ability to engage with children with enthusiasm, energy, and fun

  • Ability to moderate small group conversations ensuring that everyone participates

  • Ability to draw participation from students, instead of talking to students

  • Previous experience working with children

  • Technology proficiency with tools like Zoom

  • Responsible, dependable, punctual, and patient

  • Fluent in English

  • Counselors do not need to have any finance background (at all!). There will be an instructor who provides financial information and education. The counselors’ role is to moderate the groups of children to discuss and talk amongst themselves

Junior Vestors is the default platform for kids and teens to learn about money and investments.

We teach children the basic concepts of money and investments through interactive online group discussion and projects. We celebrate curiosity, collaboration, and exploration. We believe that talking about money should be fun and not intimidating. Our goal is to help children become curious and interested in the topic of money.
